As the summer reading log slowly rises over the horizon and we search for the proverbial "tutoring services near me" on our online devices, I can't stop thinking about my Spring Break adventure to the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico. We explored the Pueblo of Jemez during our short stay, nestled amidst the mountains between Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
When I entered the Pueblo of Jemez, I was gifted a coloring book with illustrations by artists from New Mexico. Each drawing is accompanied by poetry that captures the state's magic, making it perfect for young readers who are just beginning to explore the wonders of literature.
Feel free to share this with the emergent reader in your life!

The article is a fun summer reading idea where kids track books and stay excited about reading during break, and it feels like a simple way to keep learning active outside school. I remember once trying to finish my reading log late at night before school started and feeling rushed. While managing that and coding work, I used do my computer assignment to stay on track with my tasks. It made me realize small habits can help avoid last-minute stress.
